Family Design Drawing

Our current drawing project is to design a family. Here are some images of the progress.

Our directive was family of 4. Father is +40 doctor. Mother is +35 secretary. Son is ~12. Daughter is ~5.

I find my skeleton drawings quite appealing.

I also found it weird when my drawing teacher said that my character design had "dark" undertones. That isn't something I would have thought.

Well, it sorta is dark. Look at that first picture, for instance- that's downright creepy. Which isn't at all to say the style isn't appealing, because it is. But there's definitely something unsettling about these drawings. I think it's the slightly-lopsided eyes.

Why isn't the mother the doctor?

The mother isn't the doctor because we were told who was who. Don't blame me for the cliché and stereotyping.

I'm also starting to see the dark undertone brewing in these drawings.

I like the dark undertones! (I did notice them before you mention them at the bottom of your post.) It's sort of... Tim Burton-esque? I'm curious to see how it turns out, can you post them when finished?
